  1. Job Purpose

 

  • Oversee the strategic management and operational excellence of the AME School, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, fostering continuous improvement, and optimizing resource allocation, to uphold the institution's reputation as a premier center for aircraft maintenance engineering education.
  • Facilitate the holistic development of the AME School, from curriculum enhancement and faculty competence development to effective marketing strategies and admissions processes, in alignment with industry best practices and technological advancements, underpinning Air India Aviation Academy's commitment to excellence in aviation education and training.
 
   
 

 

 

  1. Functional Activities

    • Develop and uphold AME School operations, policies, procedures, and standards to align with top-tier industry benchmarks.
    • Lead and manage a team consisting of instructors, administrators, and support staff, overseeing tasks such as recruitment, training, mentoring, and performance management.
    • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, including those stipulated by DGCA and other relevant agencies.
    • Manage the budget effectively, identifying opportunities for cost-saving and optimizing resource allocation.
    • Define, monitor, and analyze key performance metrics to identify trends and implement necessary corrective actions.

    Key Accountabilities

 

 

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances in aircraft maintenance, engineering, and regulatory compliance, integrating them into school practices.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, training vendors, and industry associations.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the senior management team regarding the AME school's performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new technologies, processes, and training programs.
  • Collaborate with other departments/divisions to ensure effective practical exposure and planned OJT programs for students.
  • Develop and strategize the competence development of faculty members.
  • Support Training, Quality, and Examination Managers in optimizing their performance.
  • Promote the use of technology and innovations to enhance competence building among both staff and students.
  • Develop the marketing strategy for admissions to the AME school.
  • Define and oversee the admission process for the AME school.
  • Plan and execute the admission process effectively.
  • Fulfill any other duties as required by applicable CAR and organizational requirements.

 

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

 

Minimum Education requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in any field.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Experience

Minimum

Desired

  • 6-7 years of relevant experience in Senior training operations/airline operations/management roles with leading Indian/Global airlines.
  • 8+ years of experience in Examination development, instructional design, and Experience with world class AME schools.
  • Experience in conducting Training Need Analysis for students to identify and develop assessments to organizations requirements in addition to the regulatory compliances.
