A. Job Purpose
• Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of outsourced maintenance activities across domestic and international stations, adhering to regulatory requirements and company standards, thereby contributing to the safe and reliable performance of Air India's aircraft fleet.
• Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with third-party maintenance providers, optimizing processes, negotiating contracts, and implementing quality control measures to enhance maintenance quality, minimize costs, and support the overall operational objectives of Air India.
B. Key Accountabilities
Maintenance Oversight and Compliance
• Ensure contracted maintenance agreements and CAR145/FAMO certifications are in place and adhered to for AI group line maintenance at domestic and international stations.
• Supervise aircraft maintenance activities to ensure compliance with MOE/CAR 145 and AIR INDIA procedures.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to statutory regulations and airworthiness requirements.
Vendor Management and Contract Negotiation
• Monitor and execute all SGHA contracts for line maintenance, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with approved vendors at competitive rates.
• Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Quality Control and Continuous Improvement
• Establish and implement quality control procedures to uphold maintenance standards.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of outsourced maintenance operations.
• Review maintenance work, provide feedback to vendors, and initiate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
Financial Management and Budgeting
• Develop and manage the annual budget for outsourced maintenance operations.
• Monitor maintenance costs and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
• Prepare service orders for timely settlement of invoices and financial reports forecasting maintenance expenditures.
Stakeholder Communication and Strategic Planning
• Liaise with internal departments such as IOCC, MCC, FTM, and Procurements to ensure seamless maintenance operations and address service disruptions or AOGs.
• Communicate maintenance schedules, technical publications, and updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Provide regular reports on station performance, OTP management by vendor, and other operational issues to senior management.
• Develop long-term strategies aligned with operational goals by staying updated with industry trends, addressing manpower recession, adopting best practices, and resolving local issues.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
