  1. Job Purpose
  1. Manage and maintain the portfolio of airport slots, both domestic and international
  2. Develop the overarching scheduling process in coordination with operations and commercial teams
  1. Key Accountabilities

Slots & Scheduling

  1. Support the lead in designing and implementing the schedules for operating aircraft as made available by network planning/operations/engineering teams
  2. Revise the operating schedule in line with changes in business requirements
  3. Allocate aircrafts with optimized schedules to achieve savings in aircraft fuel, optimize ground time & maximize aircraft utilization
  4. Ensure all statutory requirements are complied with & operational constraints are met; complete compliance to all company SOP in deriving the optimized schedule
  5. Work with the lead on optimizing the summer and winter schedule of flights to maximize revenue generation
  6. Track and monitor number of flight cancellations and delays and continuously highlight the same to respective departments
  7. Work cross-functionally with CMS, Flight Ops, IOCC, Ground Ops to ensure feasibility of schedules, and minimize cost of operations
  8. Ensure accuracy of schedule updates and put in place systemic guardrails to enhance accuracy and responsiveness of scheduling systems
  9. Publish & distribute the planned schedule with all the stakeholders as per agreed timeline
  10. Implement the airline's slot allocation strategy in coordination with the Network Scheduling team, ensuring that the airline's flights are allocated slots at the right airports at the right times to optimize capacity utilization and meet customer demand
  11. Manage the airline's slot portfolio, monitoring slot usage and performance, and coordinating with other departments such as Network Planning and Revenue Management to optimize slot usage
  12. Analyze and report on slot performance metrics, such as slot utilization, on-time performance, and airport capacity constraints, identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations to senior management
  13. Monitor and analyze regulatory requirements related to slot allocation and airport operations, ensuring that the airline is compliant with all relevant regulations and requirements

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

  • Drive team to work cross-functionally with CMS, Flight Ops, IOCC, Ground Handling to ensure feasibility of schedules, and minimize cost of operations
  • Coordinate with operations/IOCC to highlight the number of flight cancellations and delays and to mitigate any slot violations

External Interfaces

Regulatory Authorities

  • Oversee all legal contracts and agreements of the sub-function; ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Operations

  • 2 years relevant industry experience in network planning
  • 2-5 years in network planning & scheduling for a major airline
