Associate Manager (ATCO) is a supervisory role that combines operational expertise with leadership responsibility. In addition to managing daily Air Traffic Services Operations, the associate Manager will lead and mentor a team of Senior Associates, oversee compliance with DGCA/AAI and other regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, safety, and procedural discipline. The role demands strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic oversight to ensure seamless coordination across air and ground operations.
Key Accountabilities
Maintain effective control of all air and ground traffic within designated airspace and airport vicinity.
Monitor and authorize aircraft movements, ensuring safe separation standards during takeoff, landing, and in-flight.
Provide pilots with essential information including weather updates, airspace restrictions, and emergency protocols.
Manage and coordinate daily air traffic movements (25–30 aircraft), ensuring adherence to schedules and minimizing delays.
Implement safe and efficient procedures for multiple aircraft movements during peak periods.
Collaborate with instructors, ground crew, and pilots for synchronized operations.
Liaise with AAI, Flight Information Centres, and other stakeholders for real-time coordination.
Ensure compliance with DGCA CARs and Manual of Air Traffic Services (MATS).
Respond effectively to irregular operations such as equipment failures, communication issues, or weather disruptions.
Maintain accurate logs of all traffic movements, incidents, and anomalies.
Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with ATC procedures and technologies.
Supervise and mentor Senior Associates, ensuring operational discipline and adherence to protocols.
Conduct shift briefings, allocate responsibilities, and monitor team performance.
Provide oversight during peak traffic hours, emergencies, and irregular operations.
Lead coordination with regulatory bodies, AAI, DGCA, and external stakeholders on operational and compliance matters.
Review, analyze, and recommend improvements to ATC procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
Monitor communication systems and operational readiness of ATC equipment.
Prepare, validate, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports with insights and recommendations.
Support training, skill development, and continuous learning initiatives for the ATC team.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal SOPs at both individual and team levels.
Represent the ATC unit in cross-departmental meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Valid RTR license.
5 years of experience in Aviation as Dispatchers or personnel with AAI/Air Force/FTO ATC experience.
