  1. Job Purpose
  • Responsible for conducting maintenance, inspections, and repairs on flight simulators, including Airbus and Boeing simulators
  • Ensure the proper functioning and airworthiness of simulators, adhering to aviation regulations, safety standards, and established maintenance procedures
  1. Key Accountabilities

Simulator Maintenance Engineering

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and system checks on flight simulators to ensure their proper functioning and airworthiness
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnose malfunctions in simulator systems, avionics, and components
  • Collaborate with technical teams and vendors to address and resolve technical issues effectively
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulations, manufacturer's guidelines, and maintenance standards during all maintenance activities
  • Assist in developing and implementing a preventive maintenance plan for flight simulators to prevent potential failures and ensure consistent performance
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance tasks as per established procedures
  • Work with the Manager - Simulator Maintenance and training department to incorporate relevant emergency scenarios into simulator training sessions
  • Conduct simulator calibration checks and maintain calibration records to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Collaborate with other members of the simulator maintenance team and technical departments to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing
  • Identify and address any technical issues or discrepancies promptly in coordination with the Manager - Simulator Maintenance

Team Management

  • Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks by prioritizing functional and organizational goals accordingly
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensure the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork across the Safety function

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Technical Training Teams

  • Collaborate with the Training Head and CMS Head to ensure maintenance activities take place as strategically planned
  • Collaborate with other members of the simulator maintenance team and technical departments to ensure effective communication and knowledge sharing

External Interfaces

Vendors/Suppliers 

  • Collaborate with third party vendors and suppliers; assess the quality of vendors, solve any issues pertaining to manufacture defects/recurring defects

 

 

  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements

  • Bachelor/ Diploma degree in Engineering and/or related field experience in an airline operational environment with appropriate DGCA license

  • 6+ years of relevant experience with aviation Simulator Training and Maintenance

 

 

  • Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the airline/ airport operation and aviation industry
  • Prior Experience as Simulator Engineer for Airbus and Boeing Simulators
