The IT procurement manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the purchasing activities of the organization. The procurement manager oversees the procurement of goods and services from suppliers, negotiates contracts and prices, and ensures compliance with quality standards and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies to achieve organizational goals and objectives
- Analyze market trends and demand forecasts to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities and performance
- Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers to ensure optimal terms and conditions
- Work closely with Business, Legal, Finance and other internal teams to deliver best costs and terms for the organisation
- Coordinate the procurement process from requisition to delivery, including issuing purchase orders, tracking orders, and resolving issues
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as managers, vendors, and customers
- Should have strong working knowledge of software (SaaS, On-prem, Paas, etc.), hardware (EUC, Infra, IaaS, etc.) and Professional Services (Staff Aug., Consulting, etc.)
- Should have deep knowledge on RFx Management and pricing analysis.
- Prepare and maintain procurement records and reports, such as budgets, inventory, and savings
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to procurement
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement and cost reduction in the procurement process
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Technology / Engineering, supply chain management, or related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in IT procurement, purchasing, or sourcing,
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and methods
- Good IT Category working knowledge
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
