Senior Manager- Policy & Compliance
Job Purpose:
- Responsible for preparing, documenting, and maintaining of comprehensive security policies, SOPs, manuals and ensuring alignment with national and international regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational security goals.
- Responsible for preparing AOSP, formats, digital dashboards, ATRs, MOM and monthly activity reports.
- Responsible for conducting periodic reviews and improving existing security policies, procedures and protocols to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Responsible for effective document control and management of security related publications and records.
Key Accountabilities:
Strategic Activities
- Develop and standardize comprehensive security policies, SOPs, and manuals that align with both regulatory requirements and organizational security objectives.
- Disseminate regulatory instructions, policy updates and procedural guidance across the organization.
- Make safety and security risk tolerability decisions with the departments as per approved decision metrics.
- Maintain document control processes including issuance, revision, distribution and archival of controlled documents.
- Establish a systematic review process for security policies to ensure continuous improvement and relevance to current security challenges and organizational needs.
- Responsible to reflect changes in regulations, emerging security threats, and best practices in the aviation security domain to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with the security leadership to identify security risks and develop strategies and policies to mitigate these risks, enhancing overall security resilience.
- Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in aviation security to innovate and update security policies, digital dashboards keeping the organization ahead of potential security challenges.
- Ensure periodic security management review for senior management oversight in operations.
Functional activities
- Work across different departments to ensure security policies support operational practices and legal requirements.
- Work closely with the Security Oversight & Compliance, Quality Assurance teams to ensure policies are enforceable, auditable, and uphold the organization’s AVSEC quality standards.
- Track and incorporate changes in national and international regulatory requirements into organizational policies and procedures.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure security policies are comprehensive, clear, and effectively communicated.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all security policies, revisions, and training materials for AVSEC audit and compliance purposes.
- Support regulatory compliance through development of policies and procedural controls.
- Management and control of documentation and/or data used directly in the conduct or support of operations, and in the implementation of the AOSP and its associated SSPs.
- Arrange Security Review Committee chaired by leadership in the Security department semi-annually to review the security performance in operations, address security concerns, provide feedback and instructions to the operating units, and set priorities for sub-teams.
- Any other task assigned by the Head – Policy, Oversight and Compliance and/or CSO.
Team Management
- Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks by prioritizing functional and organizational goals accordingly.
- Build a strong and motivated team, ensure the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork across the function.
- Assess the performance of all direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration and hold them accountable to various KPIs/SLAs.
- Coordinate and ensure appropriate AVSEC training are conducted for the team.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a Standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
