Job Purpose

  • To support the efficient and compliant management of trans-shipment operations within Air India’s cargo department, ensuring seamless transfer of cargo between flights.
  • To assist in the execution of operations that maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction in cargo trans-shipment.

 

  1. Key Accountabilities

Operational Execution

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing trans-shipment operations to ensure timely and efficient cargo transfer between connecting flights.

Process Monitoring and Compliance

  • Monitor trans-shipment processes to minimize delays, mishandling, and damage, ensuring adherence to customs regulations, security protocols, and international air transport regulations.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with internal teams including cargo operations, ground handling, and flight operations to ensure integrated trans-shipment activities. Collaborate with external partners such as freight forwarders and customs authorities.

Performance Reporting

  • Collect data, analyze operational performance, and generate regular reports on trans-shipment activities, highlighting efficiency, compliance rates, and areas for improvement.

Issue Resolution

  • Address operational challenges and customer concerns related to trans-shipment, ensuring swift resolution, and maintaining service quality.

Freight Forwarders and Logistics Partners

  • Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure efficient transport and handling of cargo between flights.
  • Manage relationships to optimize logistics services and negotiate contracts.

Customs Authorities and Regulatory Agencies

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations affecting international trans-shipments.
  • Regularly update on regulatory changes and implement necessary adjustments in operations.
  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in cargo operations, preferably with significant exposure to trans-shipment activities.
  • 5+ years of experience in air cargo operations, particularly in a role involving extensive stakeholder management and regulatory compliance.
