Job Description

Job Purpose

  • The scope includes Station and Route Planning, Navigation Database management, and invoice management related to Navigation Database.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Station and Route Planning for International and Domestic flights.
  • Undertake study and analysis of all new City Pairs for the Aircraft Type as per communication from Network Planning as a Pre-Operations activity, and also for Charter operations, Ferry flights for Delivery/Re-delivery, and any other ad-hoc requirements.
  • Analyse all operational restrictions and rules as per applicable State AIP and NOTAMs and provide optimum routes.
  • Identify Ops Specs requirements for each route (such as EDTO, PBN, PBCS, CPDLC, ADS-C, etc.) and ensure route planning is in line with Aircraft Type Approvals.
  • Highlight the need for Ops Specs not currently held by the Aircraft Type for route optimization and assist with the approval process as required.
  • Oversee monitoring and review of NOTAMs applicable to the relevant airspace and aerodromes and ensure compliance.
  • Propose optimum Destination and Enroute Alternates for new Airport launches for further assessment from a Performance Engineering perspective.
  • Liaise with relevant divisions for required support availability at offline airports.

Skills and Qualities Required

  • Thorough knowledge of Route Planning requirements including AIP familiarity, special airspace requirements such as NATS, understanding of Ops Specs requirements and their application, and Jeppesen Manual.
  • Knowledge of Navigation Database coding, AIRAC Cycle, and management of supplier-provided Navigation Database files.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Effective team management through accountability, strong coordination, clear communication, and proactive problem-solving while ensuring quality and compliance.

Key Interfaces

  • Internal :Collaborate closely with Network Planning, Fleet and Technical Crew, Dispatchers, Engineering, Training, and other operational stakeholders.
  • External:Manage vendor coordination for Navigation Database and flight planning systems including AIRAC updates, validation, and issue resolution.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Education  : Science Graduate from a recognized University.
  • Minimum Experience: 2 years of relevant experience in handling Navigation Data.   Desired: Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of airline operations.
