Job Description

•    Job Purpose
The Manager–Stores & Logistics is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant management of all spare parts, consumables, tools, training materials, and logistics operations required for the smooth functioning of the ATO. The role ensures end to end inventory control, procurement coordination, warehousing efficiency, and regulatory adherence (DGCA/QA requirements), supporting uninterrupted training operations.

•    Key Accountabilities

1. Inventory Management & Control
•    Maintain accurate stock levels of simulators’ spares, consumables, tools, training aids, and classroom equipment. 
•    Ensure proper documentation, traceability, and shelf life monitoring as per DGCA/ATO audit requirements. 

2. Procurement Coordination
•    Coordinate with Procurement/Finance for timely sourcing of essential materials, spares, and services. 
•    Identify reliable suppliers and maintain lead times to prevent training disruptions. 
•    Track purchase requests, delivery schedules, and vendor performance.


3. Warehousing & Storage Compliance
•    Ensure proper storage, segregation, and handling of sensitive aviation-related equipment, electronics, and consumables. 
•    Maintain housekeeping, environmental control, and safety standards within stores areas. 


4. Logistics & Distribution
•    Manage inbound/outbound logistics including shipment planning, customs coordination, and inter facility transfers. 
•    Ensure timely issuance of materials to engineering teams, instructors, and training staff. 


5. Support to Simulator & Maintenance Operations
•    Ensure availability of critical spares for Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs) to avoid downtime. 
•    Coordinate closely with Simulator Engineers for planned maintenance requirements. 

6. DGCA & Quality Compliance
•    Ensure storeroom documentation aligns with DGCA CAR, ATO Quality Manual, and internal audit requirements. 
•    Maintain records required for regulatory audits, including traceability logs and calibration certificates. 

7. Cost Management & Optimization
•    Monitor inventory carrying costs, logistics expenses, and wastage. 
•    Implement cost effective procurement and storage practices.

8. Digital Systems & MIS Reporting
•    Maintain updated data in ERP/Inventory/CMMS systems. 
•    Generate regular MIS reports—stock status, material consumption, inbound/outbound log, pending PR/PO status. 


9. Vendor & Contract Management
•    Maintain vendor database, rate contracts, and service agreements. 
•    Facilitate vendor audits or inspections were required.
