  1. Job Purpose
  • To support the team in developing and optimizing Air India’s domestic and international route network, ensuring strategic alignment with the airline's commercial and operational goals.
  • To assist in the analysis and evaluation of potential route expansion opportunities, contributing to the airline's growth and efficiency.
  1. Key Accountabilities

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Assist in the collection and analysis of data related to route performance, market trends, and competitor activities to support strategic decision-making.
  • Own various commercial and operational data sets to ensure robust reporting and informed decision making within the broader network planning team

Route Evaluation

  • Assist in formulating long term and short term network strategy and assist in seeking management approvals for execution
  • Help in identifying and reviewing opportunities for network expansion, performing economic projections and viability assessments for existing and new market

Hub Management

  • Assist in planning, implementation and maintenance of efficient hub structures and connections for all proposed planning scenarios
  •  Ensure robust and exhaustive data is maintained & circulated to internal stakeholders on all parameters relating to various hub and passenger flows

Performance Monitoring

  • Aid in monitoring the financial and operational performance of routes, presenting insights and recommendations to enhance profitability and effectiveness.

Collaborative Projects

  • Work closely with the Revenue Management, sales and other Commercial teams to ensure that the strategies developed for route development are implemented. Data pertaining to each strategy is communicated end to end

 

  • Act as SPOCs with marketing & corp communication teams for all network related strategy details and communications

Operational Support

  • Provide ongoing support by preparing detailed reports and dashboards that assist in route planning and strategic adjustments.

  • Directly report, providing regular updates and receiving strategic guidance.

Revenue management & sales

  • Collect and process feedback received from various teams & incorporate into the planning and strategy development process
  • Collaborate to ensure that route planning aligns with broader network strategies and revenue goals.

Rest of network planning

  • Collaborate in data crunching and enabling effective decision making

  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a data-driven analytical role, preferably with specific experience in airline route planning.
  • 5+ years of experience in an airline environment focusing on network planning and strategic development.
