EFB Program Oversight

Manage the overall EFB project, including implementation, routine functioning, monitoring, and record-keeping of EFB hardware, inventory and softwares.

EFB Content Management

Administer the upload and maintenance of operational performance data, charts, and documentation on all EFB devices (installed and portable).

Regulatory Compliance & Approvals

Ensure compliance with all applicable DGCA regulations related to EFB usage, software, hardware, and data handling. Assist Flight Operations Management in obtaining and maintaining necessary DGCA approvals for EFB and associated programs.

Liaison with internal stakeholders (such as D&T, Engineering, Security, IOCC) and Vendors

Coordinate with the airline’s departments/team for integration, support, and system compliance. Liaise with external vendors for procurement, configuration, and implementation of required EFB hardware and software.

Software & Application Control

Oversee configuration management and ensure that only authorized and approved software/applications are installed on EFB devices.

Security Compliance

Monitor EFB systems for potential security risks and ensure full compliance with the airline’s cybersecurity and data protection policies.

Operational Documentation Distribution System

Manage the digital documentation system (OLB) to ensure efficient distribution and version control of operational documents via digital libraries.

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Conduct UAT for EFB software updates and verify that all applications and databases meet functional and regulatory standards.

Software Lifecycle Management and Budgeting

Perform software installations, upgrades, and updates on all EFB devices as per operational and security requirements. Assist with Departmental budget creation for all EFB related items (hardware/software).

Routine Monitoring and Support

Provide ongoing support to flight crews and stakeholders to ensure seamless usage, reporting, and troubleshooting of EFB-related issues.

Team Management

Strategic Goal Setting and Cascading

Define the division’s strategic goals and performance objectives in alignment with organizational priorities. Ensure these are effectively cascaded down to all zonal departments/teams, with clarity on expectations, timelines, and measurable outcomes. Facilitate alignment across regions to maintain consistency and focus.

Leadership and Direction

Provide clear guidance, leadership, and subject matter expertise to direct reports. Ensure they understand their responsibilities and are equipped to make informed decisions. Offer support in resolving challenges, aligning with company policies, and driving operational excellence.

Performance Oversight and Accountability

Monitor and evaluate the performance of direct reports through regular reviews and feedback mechanisms. Ensure individual and team KPIs are clearly communicated, tracked, and aligned with broader divisional targets. Promote a performance-driven culture by recognizing achievements, addressing performance gaps, and fostering professional development.

Cross-Regional Coordination and Support

Encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing among base teams to optimize resource use and ensure uniformity in execution. Resolve inter-departmental issues proactively and support regional leaders in implementing best practices across locations.

Talent Development and Succession Planning

Identify high-potential team members and actively support their career development through mentorship, training, and exposure to new responsibilities. Establish a pipeline for future leadership by building team capabilities and resilience.

Strategic Initiatives

Align group airlines with strategic initiatives and applicable processes.

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Minimum Education requirements

  • Bachelor's degree/DGCA/OEM certification required

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Flight Operations Teams, with prior experience in FOE/EFB
  • Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the airline operations.
