Job Description

Key Accountabilities

Leadership & Oversight

  • Lead and mentor the Pre-Ops Crew Control team (cockpit & cabin), aligning efforts with company goals and operational policies
  • Act as the escalation point for all Pre-Ops crew scheduling matters beyond D+72 hours.
  • Analyze and validate schedule amendments proposed by Network Planning within the released roster window

Pre-Ops Scheduling & Roster Management

  • Ensure hours distribution, roster stability, and fairness in released rosters by making necessary adjustments outside the D+72 hrs window.
  • Guarantee effective standby coverage to minimize roster impact in case of pullouts.
  • Address rosters for late availability / non-availability of crew and ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage crew coverage for additional flights or schedule changes arising beyond the DOPS window.
  • Ensure full compliance of all roster decisions with DGCA CARs, FDTL scheme, and company rules.
  • Accountable to Post Holders for maintaining the legal rosters compliant with all the company and regulator requirements.

 

Vacancy & Compliance Management

  • Proactively identify crew vacancies beyond D+72 hrs and ensure they are covered with qualified and legal crew.
  • Maintain legal and regulatory compliance in all roster allocations, escalating potential risks to Post Holders as required.
  • Ensure all system and rule configurations reflect the latest operational policies and regulatory changes.

Operational Excellence

  • Act as a feedback mechanism for Crew Roster Planning by feeding the issues faced in the released roster to the roster planning team for improved roster stability
  • Drive continuous improvement in Pre-Ops crew control processes to enhance efficiency, fairness, and crew satisfaction.
  • Conduct post-facto reviews of pre-ops decisions, analyze deviations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Roster Planning, Manpower, Planning and Tactical Ops teams to ensure smooth roster handover from long-term planning to D+72 onwards execution.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with IOCC Management, Post Holders, and HR on matters related to roster fairness, stability, and compliance.
  • Support transparent communication with regulators (through Post Holders) regarding compliance, new regulations, and operational adjustments.

 

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
