JOB PURPOSE

 

  • Responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining comprehensive security policies, SOPs, and manuals, ensuring alignment with national and international regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and organizational security goals.
  • Responsible for conducting periodic reviews and updates of security policies and procedures
  • Responsible to reflect changes in regulations, emerging security threats, and best practices in the aviation security domain to ensure compliance.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

Strategic Activities

  • Develop and standardize comprehensive security policies, SOPs, and manuals that align with both regulatory requirements and organizational security objectives.
  • Ensure that all security policies and procedures comply with national and international aviation security regulations, integrating industry best practices to maintain a high security standard.
  • Collaborate with the security leadership to identify security risks and develop strategies and policies to mitigate these risks, enhancing overall security resilience.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in aviation security to innovate and update security policies, digital dashboards keeping the organization ahead of potential security challenges.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure security policies are comprehensive, clear, and effectively communicated.
  • Ensure periodic security management review for senior management oversight in operations.
  • Establish a systematic review process for security policies to ensure continuous improvement and relevance to current security challenges and organizational needs.

 

Functional Activities

  • Work across different departments to ensure security policies support operational practices and legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the Security Operations, Security Oversight & Compliance, QMS & Flight Safety teams to ensure policies are enforceable, auditable, and uphold the organization’s AVSEC quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all security policies, revisions, and training materials for AVSEC audit and compliance purposes.
  • Management and control of documentation and/or data used directly in the conduct or support of operations, and in the implementation of the AOSP and its associated SSPs.
  • Ensure preparation related to legal notice / compliances and timely submission of responses in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Arrange Security Review Committee chaired by leadership in the Security department in each quarter of the year to review the security performance in operations, address security concerns, provide feedback and instructions to the operating units, and set priorities for sub-teams.
  • Develop training and awareness programs to ensure organization-wide understanding and adherence to security policies.

 

Team Management

  • Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks by prioritizing functional and organizational goals accordingly.
  • Build a strong and motivated team, ensure the right people are in place to foster positive team spirit and facilitate teamwork across the function.
  • Assess the performance of all direct reports, encouraging effective collaboration and hold them accountable to various KPIs/SLAs.
  • Coordinate and ensure appropriate AVSEC training are conducted for the team.

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a Standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

  • Engage with Security Operations and other relevant departments to ensure policies support operational security needs.

Regulatory Authorities

  • Coordinate with the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and other relevant regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with security guidelines and regulations.

 

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

 

Minimum Education requirements

  • Graduate or equivalent, preferably from AVSEC background.
