Job Purpose
Overall ownership of all Air India Group aircraft configuration programs, including new definitions for line-fit aircraft and incremental definitions for retrofit programs
Overall ownership of all aircraft programs including line-fit deliveries and retrofit program management.
Define the strategy and manage execution of for all active programs.
Track, monitor and report status of all relevant programs to the CC&TO, the Management Committee and the CEO.
KeyAccountabilities
Strategic and Financial Alignment
Strategic Alignment: Ensure that all programs support the strategic objectives related to Air India’s commercial strategy, customer behaviour and the competitive environment. Focus on revenue optimization, enhancing operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness. Presentations to Group leadership and Board as required.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analyses of program impacts, reporting findings to senior management to aid in strategic decision-making.
Investment Strategy: Develop strategies for major program initiatives, assessing the viability and financial implications of each project.
Program Management
Program Planning: Identify and develop roadmap in terms of costs, timelines and internal / external stakeholders to support strategic goals.
Program Oversight: Manage all active programs, monitoring their progress and ensuring alignment with the broader commercial and financial strategies of the organization. Significant interface with program managers at Aircraft Manufacturers and other OEMs. Significant internal interface with CXOs and CXO-1 levels in other functions.
Budget and Cost Control: Program governance from a cost and timelines perspective. Oversee budgeting for programs, ensuring they deliver within cost constraints while achieving intended benefits.
Risk Management: Identify potential program risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program delivery aligns with strategic objectives.
Team Management
Leadership: Lead and direct team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of innovation, performance and efficiency.
Capability Building: Support the development of team skills in both functional and strategic analysis.
Innovation – development and maintenance of new frameworks for aircraft configuration, and alignment of all internal stakeholders across departments.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Work closely with the Strategic Procurement and Financing teams and other commercial teams such as Fleet Acquistion, Network Planning, Revenue Management and Cargo to ensure program alignment

Engage with various departments, including Engineering, Flight Operations, Cabin Crew Department, Airport Operations, Customer Experience, Digital & IT to understand functional requirements and develop effective solutions with OEMs.
External Interfaces

Face of Air India to program management counterparts at aircraft manufacturers and other OEM suppliers.
Participate in various strategy and execution milestones along with external stakeholders.
Ensure ongoing program governance and tracking against goals.
EducationalandExperienceRequirements

Masters/MBA/PGDM/PGP/PG degree, preferably in Strategy or Finance

Experience in the aviation sector is an added advantage
