Engineer - Backend

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Java Backend Engineer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in backend application development. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance applications using Java and modern backend technologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support business growth and digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and Microservices to support web and mobile applications.
• Develop clean, reusable, and maintainable code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Frontend Developers, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, performance bottlenecks, and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and API documentation.
• Support deployment activities and contribute to CI/CD processes.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java 8/11/17 and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
• Good understanding of Microservices Architecture and API-driven development.
• Experience in developing and integrating RESTful Web Services.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Working knowledge of Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Experience in writing unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform is preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with messaging platforms such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Understanding of software design patterns and best coding practices.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks including OAuth2, JWT, and SSO.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, or Splunk.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodologies.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Relevant certifications in Java, Cloud Technologies, or Microservices will be an added advantage.
