Ensure policies and processes for flight planning, flight preparation and flight supervision to provide safe, efficient, economical & properly coordinated flight operations.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic activities
Ensure that the preparation of the operational flight plan consistent with standard instrument departures, noise abatement operational procedures, ATC regulations and the regulations of all the States to be over flown.
Generate Operational Flight Plans [OFP] for possible routes or alternative routes which are safe and in accordance with company procedures considering Conflict Risk assessments, weather conditions and NOTAMS.
Assist in supervision and control of all flights, operational control functions and exercise functional and administrative control.
Assigned the authority to make decisions regarding risk tolerability with respect to the safety and/or security of aircraft operations according to the decision metrics in the SMS Manual.
Shall assume the role of a mentor to his subordinates to maintain the required competency levels in technical and operational knowledge.
In case of Accidents / Incidents, seal all documents pertaining to that flight, and follow the procedures as laid down in the flight safety manual.
Obtain feedback from pilots on dispatch related issues and refer to IOCC management.
Participates in the FMC [Fuel management Committee] in Flight Operations to formulate, manage and initiatives to optimize Fuel Usage and Flight Cost in Flight Operations.
Shall ensure functioning of Safety, Quality, Security and Compliance within the area of responsibility.
Flight Dispatch
Ensure that Flight Dispatchers are trained and qualified in accordance with regulations & company policies.
Ensure Dispatchers convey safety-related information to the pilot-in-command that may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight, including information related to any amendments to the ATC flight plan that become necessary during the flight.
Ensure the Flight Dispatch Manual is amended and kept up to date and revisions for the same are sent to DGCA for obtaining approval.
Ensure that the Implementation of the Flight Dispatch Departmental procedures as finalized for safe and effective functioning of Flight Dispatch
Ensure that Flight Dispatch within IOCC have the necessary facilities, workspace, equipment and supporting services as well as the work environment.
Exercise management and control for the retention of records that document the fulfilment of requirements of flight dispatchers associated with operational control.
Team Management
Set the KPI’s and objectives and ensure the cascading of the same to the zonal departments and guide their achievement.
Oversee the overall performance of direct reports and ensure and ensure KPI’s are well communicated and monitored.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

12 years with a Flight Dispatcher Approval with thorough knowledge of Area of International Experience (Asia, Middle East, Far East, Europe, and North America, Africa Australia, and Polar Operations)
15+ years relevant experience in Flight operations.
Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of the airline/ airport operation and aviation industry
Previous experience running operations for Operators with Large fleet size
