Responsible for facilitating relationships with employees and unions across regions with the aim of building a positive and engaged work environment.
Develop and recommend new or modified policies and procedures and assure legal compliance with applicable HR-related laws across regions.
Coordinate with HR and leadership from other functions on employee/industrial relations, and compliance related matters.
Key Accountabilities
Strategic Activities
Manage relationships with unions & ensure that the company's treatment of employees is consistent with its core business values and objectives
Investigate and resolve complex or critical industrial relations (IR) issues in a timely and effective manner
Plan and conduct trainings across the organization to educate the employees and leadership on various compliance related issues and disciplinary proceedings
Coordinate with various functions to identify employee needs & develop grievance handling systems to drive employee first culture across the organization
Employee Relations & Compliance
Ensure mutual trust and good relationships between the employer, unions, and other associated bodies
Handle and manage grievances and complaints across regions and counsel the leadership for resolution of issues, when required
Escalate any major employee/union issues to the Head of Employee Relations
Manage and guide the team responsible for drafting corporate policies and guidelines across regions and seek the appropriate approvals
Responsible for coordinating and completing the requirement for compliance to all statutory government regulations across regions
Analyze, collate, and collect employee feedback across all levels and regions on a regular basis to measure effectiveness and make necessary recommendations for continuous improvement
Manage external vendors across regions for compliance training
Responsible for assisting in employee dispute resolution procedures across regions and take appropriate actions to correct any employee grievances
Act as a lead when dealing with disciplinary cases/issues
Responsible for drafting various compliance related letters and documents
Liaison with Local / Govt Authorities for getting approvals, clearances, NOCs as required
Ensure that the current policies and procedures are compliant and make necessary modifications in case of non-compliance
Review and approve all major IR related material to the employee/organization
Keep abreast of best-in-class aviation industry trends and set up specialized employee relations policies & processes for Cabin Crew and Pilots
Team Management
Lead the team and provide direction on execution / implementation of tasks across regions by prioritizing functional and organizational goals accordingly
Support, nurture and develop the team members’ skills in all Employee Relations aspects.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement
Masters/MBA/PGDM/PGP/PG degree/diploma in Personnel/Human Resource Management.

8-10 years of experience in running CoEs in HR, managing initiatives and programs pertaining to Employee/Industrial Relations.
10+ years of experience COEs with focus on Employee/Industrial Relations.
Experience in the aviation sector is an added advantage.
