Associate Vice President - Business Systems
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
•Provide strategic leadership in creating the vision for the Business Systems team and envision a comprehensive roadmap for execution.
•Leading the Business Systems team delivering thought leadership, mentoring and responsible for the delivery and running of the new implementations along with the business operations.
•Orchestrate the strategic implementation and operational excellence of critical business systems including Salesforce CRM, SAP ERP, AMOS maintenance management, CAE Crew Management, and Jeppesen flight operations platforms, ensuring seamless integration across the aviation business ecosystem.
•Direct the translation of strategic product priorities into actionable project plans, tasks, and deliverables, collaborating with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with overarching business objectives.
•Oversee the management of product development initiatives, including requirements gathering, user story refinement, sprint planning, and backlog grooming, to facilitate efficient and effective project execution.
•Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, developers, and QA analysts to define project scope, specifications, and acceptance criteria, fostering clear communication and shared understanding of project goals and deliverables.
•Oversee project risk management activities by identifying and mitigating potential risks and issues. Develop strategies to minimize delays and ensure successful project outcomes.
•Lead regular updates, progress reports, and team meetings. Ensure comprehensive updates on project milestones, challenges, and dependencies flow through to stakeholders, to keep them informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
•Ensure team members troubleshoot technical issues, resolve blockers, and optimize workflows, leveraging agile methodologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement in project execution processes.
•Interface with industry peers, staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in product management and project execution, and applying newfound knowledge to enhance project outcomes and team performance.
Team Management
•Build and lead a high-performing team of technology professionals, ensuring alignment of efforts with the overarching objectives to be achieved.
•Set a direction for the team, provide mentorship, coaching, and development opportunities to team members, empowering them to achieve their full potential and drive organizational success.
•Champion a culture of accountability, ownership, and teamwork within the team, providing leadership to team members, fostering their growth and development as professionals.
•Facilitate building of talent and succession pipelines.
•Serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader within the organization.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or project management.
Desired Experience
•18+ years of experience.
•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, information technology, or project management.
•Proven experience in managing IT projects.
•Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a plus.
