A. Job Purpose
• Facilitate the seamless organization and accessibility of technical resources within Air India's engineering department.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and enhance operational efficiency through effective management and distribution of technical documents and manuals.
B. Key Accountabilities
Oversight and Maintenance of Technical Library
• Curate and maintain the technical library, ensuring it remains current and well-organized.
• Regularly assess the adequacy of resources in the technical library and make recommendations for updates or additions as necessary.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the technical library meets the needs of engineering teams and regulatory standards.
Document Control and Distribution
• Coordinate the distribution, revision, and control of technical documents, manuals, and publications, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
• Implement a systematic approach to archiving and record-keeping of historical technical documents to facilitate easy retrieval and reference.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with document control requirements and maintain audit-ready records.
Communication and Training
• Facilitate effective communication of document updates and changes to relevant teams and stakeholders, ensuring awareness and understanding.
• Provide training and support to employees on document management processes and tools, promoting efficiency and adherence to standards.
• Act as a subject matter expert on technical documentation, offering guidance and assistance to resolve queries or issues as they arise.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Regulatory Authorities • Interact with regulatory authorities such as aviation regulatory bodies to stay updated on changes in document control regulations and ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaborate on audits and inspections to demonstrate adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain necessary certifications.
F. Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education requirements
• B. Sc/B. Tech/BE/BBA/BBM/BA/bachelor’s degree in library science, information science, or engineering; or a related field.
Experience
Minimum
• 1-2 years of experience in a technical library.
Desired
• 1+ years’ experience in a technical library.
• Experience in aviation is an added advantage.
