  1. Job Purpose
  • To assist in the development and optimization of seasonal schedules that align with Air India’s strategic objectives and operational needs.
  • To support the seamless execution and coordination of seasonal scheduling activities across various internal departments and external stakeholders.
  1. Key Accountabilities
  • Schedule Planning
    • Design and oversee seasonal and long-term flight schedules in line with the airline’s growth strategy.
    • Ensure schedules maximize aircraft utilization, crew efficiency, and slot utilisation.
    • Align scheduling decisions with commercial priorities and inputs from route planning
  • Operational Coordination
    • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Ground Services to ensure schedule feasibility and integrity
    • Coordiante closely with the slots and GRC team for airports / regulatory compliance
    • Oversee contingency planning in the D+72 window for disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on passengers and operations
  • Performance Optimization
    • Monitor schedule performance metrics including on-time performance, identify reasons for delays and recommend rectifications
    • Implement improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
    • Drive digital transformation in scheduling processes through advanced tools and analytics.

  • Engage to ensure that network change communications are aligned

Engineering

  • Coordinate to ensure that the network plan is operationally feasible, aligning flight schedules with aircraft availability.

Airport Operations

  • Coordinate to ensure that the network plan is operationally feasible, aligning flight schedules with airport resource availability

Operations
(Cabin Crew, Pilots, Inflight Services, IOCC etc..)

  • Coordinate to ensure that the network plan is operationally feasible, aligning flight schedules with crew and aircraft availability.

External Interfaces

Code Share Partners

  • Work with code share partners to ensure seamless integration of networks in seasonal schedules.

Airport Authorities

  • Liaise with airport authorities to manage slots effectively.

 

  1. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Aviation Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 2-3 years of experience in airline scheduling, network planning, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network planning or familiarity with advanced scheduling software and tools, and experience in coordinating complex scheduling tasks within a commercial airline setting.
