A.    Job Purpose
•    Oversee the maintenance and repair of aircraft engines while they are on the aircraft, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards of safety and quality
B.    Key Accountabilities
 Powerplant Engineer
•    Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for aircraft engines, ensuring that they are properly maintained and serviced according to the manufacturer's recommendation. 
•    Monitor and evaluate the performance of aircraft engines, collecting and analyzing data to identify trends and potential issue.
•    Lead teams to conduct regular inspections of aircraft engines while they are on the aircraft to identify any issues or potential problems.
•    Develop and implement procedures for removing and reinstalling aircraft engines, including ensuring that all safety measures are followed, and that all equipment is properly secured.
•    Oversee the removal and replacement of components and parts within the engine, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.
•    Develop and implement plans for troubleshooting and resolving complex engine issues, including issues related to fuel systems, ignition systems, and other critical components.
•    Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses to identify the cause of any engine-related incidents and make recommendations for preventive measure.
•    Lead teams to perform root cause analysis and developing corrective actions for powerplant.

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Engineering Teams    
•    Collaborate with Engineering teams on all quality assurance & Maintenance programs.
•    Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery and quality of powerplant components and systems.
External Interfaces
Regulatory Authorities    
•    Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, industry associations, and academic.

F.    Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements    
•    An aircraft maintenance engineer qualification along with appropriate DGCA license or a relevant engineering degree (aeronautical, mechanical).


Experience    
Minimum    Desired
•    8-10 years of experience in powerplant engineering for widebody/Narrowbody aircraft.    •    Strong knowledge of powerplant systems, including engines, thrust reversers, and APUs.
•    Experience with design and development of powerplant Maintenance Program, Engine Health Monitoring, Strong command on Engine and Apu Trouble Shooting tasks including analysis and simulations
