Job Description

Position Title : Associate Manager – Occupational, Health & Safety

   

 A. Job Purpose

 •    Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs within Air India to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees.

 •    Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, accident prevention, and response management.

 

B. Key Accountabilities

 

Strategic Activities

Coordinate and enforce company-wide health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare the analysis of health and safety data to identify risk patterns and areas for improvement.
Conduct occupational health and safety training programs for employees across all levels.

Operational Activities

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Prepare reports for Investigation of accidents or incidents to determine causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
Prepare and submit all necessary documentation and reports to regulatory bodies and ensure that any non-compliance issues are promptly addressed.
Coordinate with HR to oversee workplace ergonomics and employee wellness initiatives.

Risk Management

Coordinate for OHS risk management plan that identifies all potential hazards, assesses risks, and outlines mitigation strategies.
Prepare proactive measures to prevent occupational diseases and injuries, especially those common in the airline industry, such as musculoskeletal.

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

Coordinate with emergency response teams and medical staff to manage and prepare for workplace health issues

Liaise with external health and safety consultants and regulatory authorities

 

E. Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements

 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Relevant courses of Occupational Health & safety management.

Experience

 Minimum

 Desired

3-4 years of experience in a a safety management role within the airline or transportation industry
1+ years of experience in safety compliance and risk management
