A.    Job Purpose
•    MCC Controller is responsible for advising on all maintenance activities affecting ‘in service’ airplanes to ensure minimum downtime and each time an airworthy and safe aircraft (in strict compliance with OEM Manuals and applicable Regulations) is offered for operations, thereby striving to maintain the flight schedule as envisaged, to achieve OTP targets decided by Management.

B.    Key Accountabilities
  Roles and Responsibilities 
•    Shall demonstrate clear understanding of the company policies and regulatory requirements.
•    Maintain constant surveillance of overall network stations activity and intervene immediately in case of any potential service disruption. Liaises with the concerned departments to provide necessary resources/clearances to minimized downtime of aircraft.
•    Coordination of all unscheduled maintenance activities that are accomplished using airline's procedures.
•    Advise Aircraft Maintenance Engineers on actions to attend all reported defects efficiently in accordance with applicable maintenance data.
•    Keep IOCC, Engineering management and other stakeholders advised of the expected time for return to service for an airplane on a maintenance delay.
•    Liaise with Manager Integrated Operation Control Centre and Manager Planning to Unscheduled maintenance and deferred maintenance tasks are performed on the Airbus / Boeing fleet with minimal or no affect on scheduled flights.
•    Liaison with subcontracted AMO to ensure that delays resulting from maintenance activities are minimized and advice IOCC accordingly.
•    Liaise with all stations to ensure that all technical delays and incidents are reported to Engineering Quality under the company policy in an approved manner.
•    Maintain an approved Shift log for recording both technical and routine events over each 12-hour period and give proper and complete handover of tasks to subsequent shift.
•    Inform C.T.O., Quality manager, Line Maintenance Manager, CAM, Head of MCC, MCC Duty Manager, Regional line maintenance managers, location managers, Engineering Planning and others as decided by Head of MCC via official channels in case of AOG, incidents and take necessary actions to minimize delays and expedite snag rectification.
•    Coordinate for AOG recovery by arranging all the necessary resources such as spares, men, materials and repair scheme in coordination with Defect Cell, AOG Desk, MROs and other stake holders.
•    Coordinate with Engineering Quality for One–Off Authorization via telephone followed by fax/email.
•    Monitor all critical MEL/CDL open defects on the Airbus/Boeing fleet and initiate action for timely rectification. Keep IOCC and other stakeholders posted on a real time basis for any MEL/CDL invoking/revoking.
•    Maintain fleet standard to meet special operation requirements such as EDTO, Polar operation, Pacific operation, etc. In case of any defect which can affect such operation, immediate coordination with IOCC is required.
•    Liaise with OEMs about technical issues & NTO [No Technical Objection]
•    Preparation and review of required MCC reports.
•    Attend daily production meeting, review feedbacks of meeting and issue workorders for MCC tasks as per MCC requirements
•    Monitors the defects reported everyday through Tech log entries, SHM/AHM, AMOS and through MCC shift reports for entire AI fleet and takes necessary corrective action through MCC Workorders or EO from TSD for the repeat defects and the defects of such nature which can cause an AOG situation.
•    Coordinate with Fleet chief for all critical issues.
•    Coordinate with concerned station for sending the delay items / components back to base for delay / incident investigation.
•    Taking necessary approvals for Cannibalization as per CAME procedures and maintaining records thereof. 
•    Advice Materials Department/Procurement about critical spares positioning at line stations based upon defect analysis and unscheduled maintenance requirements.
•    Coordinate with Technical services of issue of Maintenance Tips for maintenance guidance.
•    Coordinate with Technical Services/Defect Cell for issue of troubleshooting advice for repetitive defects and complex defects. 
•    Liaison with other departments/ Sections to improve dispatch reliability.
•    Ensure MCC Shift handovers are carried out as per the laid down guidelines.
•    Be a point of contact for Engineering Management and IOCC in case of Emergency situations and incidents.
•    Deputize as Duty Manager MCC as and when required by Management.
•    Any other function considered necessary and assigned by the management.
Emergency Response Assistance
•    Support the MCC Duty Manage in implementing emergency response procedures.
•    Act as a backup point of contact during aircraft maintenance emergencies when necessary.
Team Management 
•    Responsible for conducting competency assessment and annual appraisals of all Maintenance Control Centre staff to assist them in improving their performance.
•    Support, nurture and develop the team members’ skills.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

F.    Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education requirements    
•    10+2 (PCM) or Equivalent
•    Type Rating on at least two types of aircraft in fleet
•    AIRMAN & AHM Training
•    Human factor training 
•    AMOS Training
•    SMS Training

Experience    
Minimum    
•    10 Years’ experience in Aviation Maintenance Department    
Desired
•    6+ Years’ experience in Aviation Maintenance Control Center for large operators 
•    Team management experience
