Job Description
Strategic Activities
- Support in developing and executing comprehensive operational planning strategies, considering aircraft availability, crew scheduling, maintenance requirements, and regulatory, business requirements.
- Support in Monitoring and analyzing operational performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for continuous improvement.
- Support in Developing and implementing operational procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the airline's fleet.
- Production of monthly crew roster in compliance with all regulatory and business requirements.
- Manage Training Planning including crew expiries
- Manage the duty distribution in the released roster and implement measures to make the planned roster more resilient.
Functional Activities
- Lead teams to conduct regular analysis of flight schedules to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, operational robustness and financial impacts.
- Ensure JCP and JCR optimization tools are used to their maximum effect, continually adjust processes to reflect best industry practice.
- Proactively identify potential operational challenges and develop mitigation strategies to maintain smooth flight operations
- Respond to short notice schedule changes outside of the current published roster window in an effective manner.
- Provide support and guidance to the IOCC team during major operational disruptions, such as natural disasters, airport closures, or industrial actions.
- Ensure that training is planned in compliance with the training matrix shared by Flight Ops and updated from time to time.
- Ensure planned equalization is maintained at monthly & rolling 12-month period
- Ensure the following functions are performed effectively in the Pre-Ops Scheduling window:
- Ensure the Hours Distribution, roster stability & Fairness in Released roster by adjusting the crew duties outside the D+72 window
- Ensure meaningful standby coverage (minimum impact on crew roster in case of pull out).
- Address rosters for late availability / non availability of crew based on above.
- Additional flights or schedule changes for released rosters beyond the DOPS window.
- Other requirements for released roster beyond the DOPS window.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to flight planning and scheduling
- Collaborate with all operational functions to ensure that resources are aligned with flight schedules.
- Accountable to Post Holders for maintaining the legal rosters compliant with all the company and regulator requirements.
- Monitor any non-compliance and highlight to the post holders with delay reasons.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage Planning team & Pre-Ops team to ensure effective collaboration and optimal performance.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and accountability within the Planning team.
- Provide guidance and support for the team's professional and personal development.
- Set individual/departmental goals/objectives and monitor/report on ongoing performance.
- Ensure KPI’s are well communicated and monitored.
- Ensure all staff have performance reviews and development plans.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment.
Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitable represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.
