AMOS Specialist
Job purpose:
Provide support to the Engineering and Maintenance team through the management and enhancement of engineering IT systems such as AMOS, and Etechlog.
Key accountabilities:
- Administers the AMOS system including - User management, AMOS configuration, Interfaces setup, schedulers, Counter management, Workorder setup, Aircraft utilization data, Workflow definition, Aircrafts, Parts, AD & SB, MEL, Stores Mgmt, Form configuration, reports extraction from out of the box and backend etc.
- Administers engineering systems like AMOS-MRO, RFID, eLogbook, management of vendor service requests and change requests from a business.
- Addresses day-to-day end user requirements and ensures timely fixing of bugs identified by users for AMOS and other Engineering systems.
- Ensures the availability and reliability of engineering systems by monitoring performance, identifying, and resolving issues promptly.
- Manages engineering iPads, applications using JAMF Mobile Device Management system and testing of the iPad applications during the new release.
- Conducts user acceptance testing and validation of engineering IT systems during systems updates, patches, interfaces implementation and major upgrades.
- Develops reports as per requirements using AMOS report designer and other tools.
- Develops and manages the interface between IT projects and engineering and maintenance.
- Conducts key activities such as user login reviews, system audits, and AMOS year-end processes of Engineering IT systems.
- Provides technical support to end-users, including engineers and maintenance personnel, to ensure smooth operation and utilization of engineering systems.
- Evaluates, adopts, and manages the implementation of new Engineering IT system modules that are critical to operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Manages the configuration and control of engineering IT systems to ensure they are tailored to operational needs, while preventing unintended transactions.
- Maintains effective communication with external vendors to ensure timely resolution of open issues and to drive system improvements.
- Supports other digital projects and activities as required by contributing to planning, coordination, and implementation efforts.
- Analyze application functionality deficiencies reported by users and coordinate for resolution appropriately within agreed time.
- Provide direction for Engineering IT solutions that will continuously give an advantage to the organization in terms of business efficiency and improved decision making.
- Develop and implement quality control systems for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities.
- Conduct audits of MRO activities to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Develop and implement training programs for MRO personnel on quality procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Air India's quality management system.
