A.          Job Purpose

• Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and logistics of narrow body aircraft to ensure reliable, safe, and cost-effective management of the fleet in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve fleet performance and reliability, while ensuring compliance with aviation regulations and preparing for regulatory audits and inspections.

B.          Key Accountabilities

Daily Operations and Maintenance Coordination

•            Supervise daily operations to ensure on-time performance and operational efficiency.

•            Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule routine maintenance, unscheduled inspections, MEL closure, and structural repairs.

Regulatory Compliance and Updates

•            Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations, including those from DGCA, FAA, EASA, and other relevant authorities.

•            Stay updated on changes in aviation regulations and adjust policies accordingly.

•            Prepare for and participate in regulatory audits and critical inspections.

Fleet Performance and Reliability Enhancement

•            Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance fleet performance and reliability.

•            Utilize data analytics and weekly reports to monitor fleet performance and identify areas for improvement.

Logistics and Supplier Management

•            Oversee the logistics of parts, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintaining aircraft in airworthy conditions.

•            Manage strong relationships with suppliers, MROs, and service providers.

•            Follow up to ensure timely procurement and delivery of necessary components and validate consumable inventory as per the scale of operation.

Team Leadership and Interdepartmental Coordination

•            Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment by leading and motivating the team.

•            Participate in engineering, reliability, and inter-departmental meetings to improve fleet OTP and cabin standards.

•            Provide inputs for manpower planning and scope of maintenance approvals required for reducing maintenance downtime.

Operational Reporting and Management Presentations

•            Prepare regular reports on fleet operations, cabin/IFE standards, system maintenance status, and control of MCASK as per industry benchmarks.

•            Present findings and recommendations to senior management for discussion and remedial measures

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

VP-Engineering / LMM            

•            Reporting and alignment on fleet strategy and performance.

•            Regular updates and discussions on fleet operations and maintenance.

Maintenance Team   

•            Coordination for scheduling and executing maintenance tasks.

•            Collaboration on routine maintenance, unscheduled inspections, and structural repairs.

External Interfaces

Regulatory Authorities           

•            Compliance with aviation regulations and requirements.

•            Coordination during audits, inspections, and addressing non-compliance issues.

F.           Educational and Experience Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement 

•            Bachelor of Engineering / Technology in Aeronautics, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent discipline, or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licensed on relevant fleet type.

•            Must have CAR 66 Type Rating B1 or B2 License on Narrow body aircraft.

Minimum Requirement         

Experience     

•            Minimum of 15 years of experience in aircraft maintenance management with at least 5 years in a Senior Managerial /leadership role in managing narrow body fleet maintenance.    

•            Experience with Narrow body aircraft models like A320 family a/c, B737 NG, B737-8 (MAX) in the company's fleet or with previous role.

•            Professional certifications such as an DGCA CAR66 license, DGCA SOJT assessor/Examiner, Trainer
