A. Job Purpose
• Ensures the seamless execution of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, aligning operational demands with regulatory compliance, resource availability, and safety standards. The planner acts as a liaison between engineering planning, logistics, and line maintenance teams to optimize aircraft/equipment readiness and reliability.
B. Key Accountabilities
Maintenance Planner is responsible for:
• Plan for implementation of work package taking into consideration the resources available, the aircraft layover downtime and commercial operation requirements.
• Review daily work package issued and ensure materials, reference publications and tooling/equipment that are required for performing the routine check and task are preloaded.
• Daily attend the production Planning Meeting for finalization of the work package.
• Coordination with Line Maintenance for availability of required manpower for the required tasks
• Liaise with Check Planner and Line Maintenance for implementation of the Line Checks and other variable routine work.
• Coordinate with stores for timely preloading of the materials.
• Coordinate with procurement for availability of the required tools, equipment and materials.
• Release of daily aircraft work package in coordination with Engineering planning, MCC and Line Maintenance for maximum optimization and planning efficiency.
• Prepare on daily basis the work package dockets along with all the workorders and reference publications and timely handover to Shift In charge.
• Check for completion of check/work scheduled, monitor the deferred tasks and reschedule as necessary. Inform the check planner of any deferment in the shift.
• Coordinate with MCC/LM/Supplies for requirement of tools and manpower for out stations and opening of new stations and ensure its availability
• Coordinate with MRO at Delhi and VTI stores for ensuring the availability of spares, tools and equipment required for the planned check/task and non-routine tasks.
• Coordination with Planning and MCC for aircraft ground time planning and availability for maintenance.
• Participation in audits and ensuring timely corrective and preventive action
• Coordinate with engineering stores and procurement to ensure the availability of spares, modification kits with correct and complete documentation before planning of the modifications
• Coordinate with Line Maintenance/MRO to retrieve the completed work package and associated documentation accomplished and ensure handover to Technical Records on time
• Such other work assigned by Reporting Manager.

Schedule Adherence
• Measures how closely actual maintenance execution aligns with the planned schedule.
Aircraft/Equipment Availability
• Indicates the percentage of time aircraft or equipment are available for operations versus being grounded for maintenance.
AOG Response Time
• Measures the average time taken to plan and initiate corrective actions during Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events.
Parts & Resource Availability Rate
• Assesses how often required parts, tools, and manpower are available as per the maintenance plan.

Internal Interfaces
Line Maintenance Teams
• Direct execution of planned tasks; real-time feedback on delays, deferments, and resource needs.
• Ensure operational continuity and accurate task closure.
Planning
• Regular communication with check planners and MCC to align work package, ensuring optimal resource allocation and adherence to project timelines.
Maintenance Control Center (MCC)
• Collaboration with MCC to coordinate daily aircraft work packages, MEL/ NEF to optimize planning efficiency, and ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks.
External Interfaces
Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)
• Participation in Audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and requirements.
Third-Party Vendors
• Collaboration with third party technical records management for timely handover of completed packages and resolution of queries, if any.
F. Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum Education requirements
• Engineering degree or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
Experience
Minimum
• 0-5 years relevant work experience in an aviation industry.
Desired
• Minimum 1 year experience in Planning/ Engineering.
• Prior experience in AMOS
