  1. Job Purpose
  • The Ground Instructor will be responsible to impart DGCA CPL/ ATPL ground training to cadets as per a curriculum defined for the Air India FTO. The Ground Instructor will be responsible for adhering to the quality norms, providing inputs on exam registration for students, and maintaining training records as per regulatory requirements. Ground Instructors will be expected to use new technological initiatives in trainings.
  1. Key Accountabilities

· Develop and update CPL/ ATPL Ground Training curriculum in line with DGCA regulations and industry best practices.

· Deliver ground training to cadets as per approved syllabus and standardized training procedures.

· Mentor cadets and assist in the development of professional conduct, discipline, leadership qualities, and aviation professionalism throughout the training program.

· Maintain training records and submit periodic progress reports to the Chief Ground Instructor (CGI).

· Ensure compliance with DGCA requirements related to ground training and examinations.

· Prepare and update training materials, assessments, SOPs, and other training documentation.

· Maintain training aids and classroom resources to ensure training quality.

· Support continuous improvement of training standards and learning outcomes.

 

Any other additional responsibility could be assigned to the role holder from time to time as a standalone project or regular work. The same would be suitably represented in the Primary responsibilities and agreed between the incumbent, reporting officer and HR.

  1. Professional and Experience requirements - Subject wise

 

Subject

Minimum (As per DGCA CAR Section-7 Series D Part-I)

Desired

Air Navigation

  • Held or holding CPL/ ATPL; or 
  • Air Navigation instructors from Defense Services; or 
  • Held or holding Flight Navigator License; or
  • Air Traffic Controller from AAI/ Defense forces
  • 2+ years experience as Ground Instructor in FTOs/ ATOs / Defense training organizations/ Aviation training organizations.

 

  • Experience in training operations/airline operations/management roles with leading airlines.

Aviation Meteorology

  • Held or holding CPL/ ATPL; or 
  • Qualified Meteorologist from Defense services or IMD; or 
  • Air Traffic Controller from AAI/ Defense forces

Aircraft Technical General and Specific subject

  • Held or holding CPL/ ATPL/AME License; or 
  • Degree or equivalent in Aeronautical/ Mechanical/ Electrical /Electronic/ Communication Engineering; or 
  •  A QFI/ QNI from Defense forces.

Air regulations

  • Held or holding CPL/ ATPL/; or 
  • Air Traffic Controller from AAI/ Defense forces

Radio Telephony

  • Held or holding CPL/ ATPL/; or 
  • Air Traffic Controller from AAI/ Defense forces
