Associate Manager - Procurement

Job Purpose:
To manage and optimize the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of goods and services required for airline operations, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, compliance, and timely delivery in alignment with the company’s strategic and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

Develop and execute procurement strategies for aviation-related categories (e.g., fuel, MRO, catering, ground handling, uniforms, inflight products, IT systems, etc.).

Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, cost trends, and risk factors.

Lead end-to-end sourcing processes including RFI, RFQ, and RFP.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to achieve best value.

Manage supplier selection and qualification in compliance with company standards.
2. Vendor & Contract Management

Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and service providers.

Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, compliance).

Review and renew supplier contracts as needed, ensuring SLA and regulatory compliance.

Manage disputes or performance issues with vendors.
3. Cost Management & Optimization

Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.

Analyze spend data to track cost trends and improve procurement efficiency.

Support annual budgeting and forecasting for procurement-related costs.
4. Compliance & Governance

Ensure procurement activities align with corporate policies, safety standards, and aviation regulations (e.g., IATA, FAA, EASA).

Maintain transparent records and audit trails for all procurement activities.

Support ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) and sustainability initiatives in supplier selection.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Flight Services teams to understand requirements and deliver optimal solutions.

Participate in project teams for new route launches, fleet expansion, or base setup.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.

Professional certifications (CIPS, CPSM, PMP) preferred.

5+ years of procurement experience, ideally in the aviation or transportation industry.

Strong understanding of airline operations, MRO, and aviation supplier markets.

Proven track record in contract negotiation and supplier management.
